Hi! I am a researcher who is fascinated by the intersection between physics, complex systems, and machine learning / artificial intelligence (ML/AI). I’ve been working on ML/AI based approaches to aid modeling and control of particle accelerator systems since starting my graduate studies on that topic in 2012. I’m now an Associate Scientist and Panofsky Fellow at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, and I am the ML/AI Department Head in the Accelerator Research Division.

I’m also passionate about education / outreach and community-driven open-source software development.  I have been active in educating the particle accelerator community about machine learning through lectures,  workshops and tutorial sessions on ML/AI for accelerators, and teaching at the U.S. Particle Accelerator School.
